What a year it has been which has seen GUBA judges move form strength to strength none more so than GUBA Awards judge Charles Thompson.

The renowned veteran film producer has been awarded an MBE for Services to the Global Black Film Industry in the Queen’s Honours List 2011. He says, ‘Thank you your Majesty..it feels good to know the Ancestors have guided me well enough to have finally taken a chunk out of the British Empire’

This honour has been met with rapturous delight from Ghanians. This honour highlights the growing contribution that Ghanians are making the UK.

Charles Thompson has worked in the UK Television and film industry for over 20 years and is seen as an integral part of The Ghanian community.
