10 Athletes to represent Ghana at the 2012 Olympics games

 Ghana holds on to hopes of Olympic glory as ten athletes are chosen to represent the nation in the upcoming games which takes place in London from the 27th of July.  

The athletes consist of four track and field athletes, four boxers, a judoka and one weightlifter, joined by six coaches.

Sprinter, Vida Anim, will be making her fourth appearance at the games hoping to reach the final stages after three failed attempts.  In a statement to GNA Sports, Vida stated that qualifying for the finals in the 200m event will be within her expectations at the Games, which will have Margaret Simpson, Ignatius Gaisah and Aziz Zakari as the other two qualified athletes.

The four boxers Duke Micah, Isaac Dogboe, Sulemanu Tetteh and Maxwell Amponsah will enjoy the services of trainers Ofori Asare and Vincent Nettey during the event.  Judoka Emmanuel Nartey  will be  trained by Hans Jurgen Klinger whilst former Champion, Majetie Fetrie will aid Alberta Ampomah in her quest to claim Ghana’s first medal in weightlifting at the Games.

Angela El-Adas (team doctor), Raphael Yaadar (physiotherapist), Fulera Abdul-Rahman Abu, Nii Adote Din Barima, First Vice Chairman of the Ghana Olympic Committee alongside a contingent of 21 are expected to form part of Team Ghana.
