NewMax is a mining company dedicated to discovering the best natural resources and using its proceeds to improve the lives of local communities. NewMax is made up of a team of mining professionals endeavoring to bring about advancement through the acquisition of gold mining concessions. Since commencement in 2012 NewMax Mines have discovered and extracted in several mining areas in West Africa.
Aside from its corporate obligations, NewMax mines also focus on providing proper land and waste management for the communities they work in. NewMax mines is a business with a conscience and as a result, have been nominated for the Invest In Africa Sustainable Business award.

Tell us about the premise behind your business
NewMax is coined from two very powerful words; New and Maximize, thus, our approach is to bring in new ways to maximize things. One of the main reasons why we decided to enter the mining sector was to introduce new ways to maximize the natural minerals we are blessed with as a nation. In doing so, we hoped to use our discoveries for the betterment of the nation.
How does it feel to be nominated for the Sustainable Business of the Year and what would winning mean to you?
The nomination came as a humble sign that what we do and what we stand for as a company is being recognized and being rewarded. Winning will be the cherry on the cake.
What do you think about the GUBA Awards?
GUBA Awards is definitely here to stay and we in NewMax have always been huge fans of the GUBA awards. GUBA must be supported at all cost to grow because the award serves as a motivational factor to a lot of people and organizations to keep on doing right.
Where does your motivation come from?
Our motivation comes from the fact that we have seen too many failures and poverty in our society, and made a pledge to ourselves that we will never end up as one of those statistics. We then decided to charter a new course, do things differently, push harder, learn and work smarter, to make things better for ourselves and our generation.
Do you have any plans of expanding your business?
We are synonymous with expansion; NewMax started as an event organizing company 6 years ago and expanded to NewMax Group. We have started the process of expanding into other countries such as the UK and USA and will eventually spread to other African Countries.
Are you involved in any other projects?
NewMax Group has three other companies namely, NewMax Marketing which provides marketing consultations to corporate Ghana. NewMax PR which provides Public Relation services to corporate Ghana, individuals, Governments and organizations. Finally, NewMax Business Management which provides business consultations to a lot of corporations and individuals. We also have a column in Ghana’s Business and Financial Times news paper called Business Couch where we write thrice a week educating Ghanaians and the business community.
What message would you give to aspiring and upcoming entrepreneurs?
You must have a winning attitude. Attitude can make and unmake you.
Do you have anything else you would want to add?
We would like to thank GUBA and Ghanaians for allowing young people like us to get to where we are today. We encourage Ghanaians to pursue the Ghanaian dream because it is possible to rise from nothing to something.
