Inspire Ghana’s Football Fundraiser, Scheduled for the 24th of May

Ghana vs Nigeria (1)

Inspire Ghana Life Development- known simply as Inspire Ghana is a registered NGO in Ghana working to develop the lives of young adults in Ghana through teaching and mentorship. Established by Aba Abekah-Mensah in 2013, Inspire Ghana has spent the last year preparing to launch its first summer programme this August 2014 in Accra. Working with Methodist University, in Dansoman, Greater Accra, Inspire Ghana will host 250 students at an all- expenses paid, summer school for one week. The summer school will be hosted by a group of volunteers from Europe and Ghana across a range of fields of focus and will open up the world of careers to the students to explore their future.

Inspire Ghana reaches out to all young people with a dream and desire to develop themselves. The programme will also pair them with mentors after the summer school to follow their progress.

The idea for Inspire Ghana came about in February 2013 when founder, Aba Abekah-Mensah met with a young lady who had travelled from Nigeria to London for holiday prior to her university entrance exams. Aba worked with her for 3 months intensively preparing her for the exam, providing self-development and general knowledge. The experience led her to discover a huge discrepancy between her student and those of the same age here in the UK. This bred a passion to do something for the young people in West Africa and Inspire Ghana was born.

In November 2013, Inspire Ghana hosted their first major fundraiser, Inspirational Goals. This was a football tournament used to raise money for the project and raise awareness.

On 24th May 2014, Inspire Ghana launches its next fundraiser, Inspirational Goals, World Cup Special- Ghana vs Nigeria. This football match will see many of the young artistes including: Derry Mensah of X factor fame, Kwamz and Flava, Mista Silva, Moelogo, Vibe Squad, Weray Ent and popular DJs such as Special D, Vibe Squad official DJ- P montana, and individuals representing the two nations.

Tickets are £5 and on sale by contacting 07944913535.

All money from ticket sales will go towards paying for accommodation, food and stationery for the students attending Inspire Ghana project in Accra this August.
