International Petroleum Mogul – Mrs. Ivy Manly-Spain, has been selected as the recipient of the GUBA Female Excellence in Oil and Gas Award. The award takes place on Saturday the 3rd of June 2017 at the Intercontinental Hotel in London.
GUBA Black Star award aims to acknowledge, showcase and reward consistent innovators and trailblazers within the Ghanaian, British and African society. She is being awarded for her steadfast dedication to addressing and resolving petroleum related issues in Ghana.
Mrs Manly-Spain is the visionary behind three companies in the Petroleum Industry namely Hills Oil Marketing, CEO Oil & Gas limited and Globex Energy Limited. Hills Oil Marketing Company Ltd was borne out of her sheer determination to ensure that a gap she identified in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) sector four years ago in Ghana becomes a thing of the past. Having identified the challenges for the perennial shortages of gas, she set a target to invest heavily in the industry to help ensure that LPG is available in every part of the country, and that ‘No gas’ at dealers stations is reduced significantly or completely eliminated. Hills Oil Marketing has experienced phenomenal growth within the past 3 years and secured a fleet of 30 brand new MAN diesel trucks with LPG bulk trailers, which ensures that LPG is transported regularly and safely.
Currently, ‘Hills Oil’ brand is the number one LPG marketing company in Ghana and employs about 250 people directly and indirectly. Hills Oil have set their sights on becoming a first class Oil Marketing Company in Ghana and West Africa.
Mrs. Ivy Manly-Spain has been incredibly influential in an industry mostly considered male dominated. She joins thirteen other GUBA Black Award nominees on the night. To find out more about the GUBA Awards, visit www.gubaawards.co.uk
