Following the receipt of his GUBA 2018 Rising Sports Star award, we give him this platform to share more about his dreams, aspirations and motivation.

How does it feel to be the recipient of the GUBA 2018 Rising Sports Star Award?

I feel very delighted to win the GUBA 2018 Rising Sports Star Award. It’s absolutely humbling that the Ghanaian community in the UK recognizes my efforts in sports especially at this early stage of my career. My sincerest gratitude to GUBA.

How would you use being the recipient of this award to influence others and how would it impact your career?

To receive such a prestigious award gives me the responsibility to motivate other Ghanaians here in the UK. We can all become successful if we continue pushing, keep striving, stay focused, work hard and most importantly, stay committed and dedicated in which ever field we find ourselves.

The GUBA Awards is an indicator that there are high achieving Ghanaians in the UK. The awards also help in creating a wider recognition for our talents and that of many.   It is a platform I can use to associate with like-minded talent and connect with high achieving Ghanaians for future projects.

What motivates or keeps you going?

My motivation comes from my visions, dreams and aspirations as I still have a very long way to go in my career. I work harder than anyone else because I want to be an excellent boxer and not a mediocre one. This vision of excellence keeps motivating me and it is what keeps me going each and every day.

Is there any advice you would like to share with people who admire you or look up to you as a role-model?

In order to achieve success, you need to be consistent and stay dedicated. Even in failure or adversity, you still need to hold your head up high and remain focused. Being consistent is the driving force that has got me where I currently am.

What are your impressions of the GUBA Awards?

The GUBA Awards surpassed my expectations to be honest. It was more spectacular than I thought. The event was very well organised. I got the chance to interact with high achieving Ghanaians in the UK as well as high profile dignitaries and celebrities from Ghana. It was truly humbling to receive an award. I commend GUBA for using this platform to celebrate Ghanaians who are doing marvellously well in the UK.

What should we look forward to from you in the coming years?

More success. Not just in boxing but in all projects I find myself. I want to reach higher heights and new levels. I also have plans of helping people and giving back to the community because it is very much on my heart. The future looks bright.
