The MOBO Awards graced our Television screens last night (5th October) and saw Ghanaian Tinchy Stryder finally pick up an Award. The UK artist who has been nominated 5 years in a row and finally received a gong. However it was bitter sweet as the star won the Award for Best Video for his song Spaceship but had to share the award with Ndubz front man Dappy.
The main headlines on the night came from Jessie J winning 4 awards for Best UK Act, Best Newcomer, Best Song and Best Album. ~The “Do it Like a Dude” singer was ecstatic and at times moved to tears about it. Her winning sparked a twitter frenzy with many infuriated at the dominance of white artists in an award ceremony supposedly for Music of Black Origin.
The night included a beautiful tribute to the late Amy Winehouse from her God-daughter Dionne Bromfield and to end things an amazing performance from Boyz 2 Men.
