GUBA NOMINEE JOHN MENSAH NAMED IN AFCON BEST XI

GUBA nominee John Mensah has been named in The 2012 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Best XI.  Mensah was the sole representative for Ghana. He was selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF)

During the 2012 GUBA Awards launch at the Ghana High Commission last month, Mensah was recognised again, for his contribution to Ghana soccer and for being part of Africa’s best with a GUBA’s Sporting Achievement Award which will be presented to him at the annual awards night on 10th November 2012 at the Park Plaza Hotel in London.

In the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations the Black Stars Captain scored twice to help his side reach the quarter finals. Mensah who is also Ghana’s most capped player is no stranger to the GUBA Awards; winning the Sports Person of the year award in 2010.

During her speech at the launch, the founder and CEO of GUBA, Dentaa, praised Mr John Mensah for his dedication to mother Ghana and his positive attitude that sets him up as a role model for the youth of Ghana and Africa in genera.
