GUBA Interviews Fashion Entrepreneur- Adrien Sauvage

Adrien Sauvage’s mantra ‘Dress Easy’ is the very embodiment of his collections and has led to the success of his brand. Adrien created House A Sauvage as a way to make luxury and sophistication easily accessible to men.

Coming from humble beginnings, Adrien begun as a stylist and lifestyle consultant till he built up rapport within the fashion industry. House A Sauvage has gone on to star in various fashion campaigns. The popularity of the menswear range has led to the brand’s expansion into made to measure Womenswear and casual wear.

His collections are well known for incorporating some elements of traditional African fabrics such as Ghanaian kente. There is no stopping Adrien when it comes to fashion as he is keen to prove that luxury shouldn’t be difficult to attain. Adrien has currently been nominated for the GUBA Blavo Young Entrepreneur Award, where he is up against other outstanding entrepreneurs.

GUBA gives Adrien a chance to share his experiences…

Tell us about the premise behind your business.

House A. Sauvage is a British fashion house, offering ready-to-wear and made-to-measure suiting, casual separates, leather goods, eyewear and footwear. The brand focuses on quality,  modernity, cut and fit to ensure comfort, minimal effort and wardrobe simplicity for every man. A. Sauvage has become known for its innovative use of African textiles – including the traditional Ghanaian Kente – and is sold internationally. In 2012 we launched our first line of ‘Menswear for Women’ due to popular demand.

How does it feel to be nominated for the Young Entrepreneur Award and what would winning mean to you?

I feel extremely honoured to be nominated for the Young Entrepreneur Award but I’m also pleased that all this hard work has received recognition. It would be a great privilege to win and feeling the support of Ghanaians would mean a lot to me.

What do you think about the GUBA Awards?

I am really inspired by what is happening in Africa at the moment. Ghana is emerging as a particularly modern, creative and trendsetting environment with a vibrant film industry, internationally awarded musicians and burgeoning media production companies.  It is great to celebrate these achievements.

Where does your motivation come from?

From a young age, my parents taught me that to achieve anything you have to work for it. I have always wanted to make my parents proud and to build something that I can be proud of myself. This gives me the motivation to find the energy and strength to push myself that little bit further every time.

Do you have any plans of expanding your business?

I think expansion is mainly an organic process as the brand expands internationally season by season but in the future I would like to have stores in New York, Miami, Hong Kong and  London.  I have also recently launched my first collections of jewellery and eyewear and currently developing footwear.

Are you involved in any other projects?

I am always shooting for my on-going photography project ‘This is not a suit’ and I have been thinking about turning this journal into a magazine. I am also working on the treatment for my next short film.

What message would you give to aspiring and upcoming entrepreneurs?

Love what you do and do what you love. Listen, learn and believe in yourself.

Adrien’s collections have been nothing short of unique and vibrant. We at GUBA especially like the fact that it is fashion with  significant message. We urge everyone to support the brand.
