DR MICHAEL OBENG TO BE HONOURED WITH GUBA HUMANITARIAN SPIRIT AWARD

Renowned Ghanaian plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael K Obeng, will be honoured with the GUBA Awards Black Star Humanitarian Spirit Award at the Intercontinental Hotel in London on Saturday the 3rd of June 2017.

The Humanitarian Spirit Award recognises works of charity and benevolence that greatly improve the lives of disadvantaged people. It seeks to shine a light on those who tirelessly work to promote human welfare and acknowledge individuals who strive to use their uniquely acquired skills to alleviate the suffering of others.

Harvard trained, board certified Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr Michael K Obeng, specialises in cosmetic surgery of the aging face, neck, breast, body, trunk, extremities and genitalia. He is among the few surgeons in the world to successfully reattach a limb. He is also an expert in complex reconstructive surgery, hand, and micro neurovascular surgery.

As the CEO of his own practice- MiKO Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills (CA), he was named among “America’s Top Plastic Surgeons” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America in 2011. His clientele comprises of royalty and celebrities, but also includes some of the world’s most unfortunate patients. He is also currently on staff at Cedars Sinai Hospital.

Through his non-profit, R.E.S.T.O.R.E Worldwide Inc, Dr. Michael K Obeng travels to third world countries to donate his surgical skills to underprivileged people with serious medical conditions that require plastic surgery. He is also a winner of the coveted, Herman B. Barnett award in Surgery and Anesthesia.

Dr Obeng is being rewarded for the strides he has made to improve the standard of living in the developing world through the reconstruction of deformities, and his efforts to bridge the gap between morbidity and healthy living.
